The First Indonesian woman who climbed mount Everest went crazy

Clara is the first indonesian woman who succeed to reach the peak of mount Everest in 1996. 30th June 2009, she was taken to the Prof dr Soerojo asylum, Magelang, Middle Java. Her sister said that Clara keeps on being angry and stressful all the time. It seems that this is the third time that she is mentally ill. The asylum side suspected that it's because she didn't take her medicine routinely , but they still has no sure answer for what triggered this disturbance. She got her first treatment in 1997 and in 2000 she got the second one.

Since she was being treated in the asylum, Clara keeps telling people there about her significant achievement, but they keep ignoring what she says. They don't believe in her words because they think that it's just in her own imagination. Friday, 9 October, she accidentally meet Hamzah, an assistant of Deputi Menpora, and Clara came to Hamzah and ask whether he still recognized her. At first, he was surprised, but then he recall who she is, and since that, the all of the asylum side believe the fact that she reach the peak of mount Everest. It is supported with 889 articles that stated her achievement and it is written that she received the Bintang Nara for it.

After she was treated there for 2 weeks, the asylum side inform her family that her condition was well. They said that she can go home, but her family give a rejection letter. Her family was worried that Clara's mental illness will triggered anytime. Not just her family, but her neighbors also reject her to come home. The asylum side have no choice but to take care of her there.

In conclusion, we can see that even though she has an amazing achievement and people start to recognized her for it, she was continuously rejected both by her family and the society.

First clown in Space

Guy Laliberte, the 50-year-old Canadian Billionaire and founder of the circus arts and theatre performance Cirque du Soleil, is the first clown to travel in space for performing an entertainment and had arrived safely back on Earth a few weeks ago.

He was greeted by an overwhelming crowd of friends and family before he blasts off to space with two other astronauts, the Russian cosmonaut named Gennady Padalka and US astronaut Michael Barratt. Among the cheering crowd were Laliberte’s partner Claudia Barilla (former model) and the Quebec singing star Garou.

Laliberte was scheduled to lift off aboard a Soyuz spacecraft with Surayev and Williams for a two-day trip to the orbiting lab. Laliberte had stayed in space for 12 days. He had also paid $35 million for his flight and has a 95% stake in Cirque du Soleil.

The Soyuz team is scheduled to continue to construct of the space station. The station has already become the largest artificial satellite weighing more than 710,000 pounds and orbiting the Earth at 220 miles high. The space station has cost more than $100 billion paid by the United States, Japan, Russia, Canada, and the 18-nation European Space Agency.

Guy Laliberte could be the last space tourist for some time as seats will be limited aboard the Soyuz once NASA takes its long-serving shuttles out of service. Eric Anderson, the chief executive officer of Space Adventures, said that his company will try to make sure that at least three tourists get the chance to travel to space each year despite the shuttle’s retirement.

ANDERSON: I keep hearing that space tourism is ending and it never seems to be true. One way to keep the program alive would be the increase number of Russian Soyuz mission.

Michael Owen
7. Michael Owen
Birthdate: 14 Dec 1979
Birthplace: Chester, England
Position: Striker
Appearances: 15
Goals: 4
Joined United: 03 Jul 2009
United Debut: 09 Aug 2009 v Chelsea (N)
International England
PLAYER

His July 2009 arrival at Old Trafford may have raised a few eyebrows, but former Liverpool striker Michael Owen is undoubtedly one of the finest goalscorers in the history of English football.

The Chester-born forward notched up more than 200 goals for Liverpool, Real Madrid and Newcastle United, plus 40 goals in 89 England internationals prior to signing for Sir Alex Ferguson's men.

Owen burst to prominence at his boyhood side, Liverpool, where he scored on his first-team debut aged just 17. His lightning pace, untraceable movement and clinical finishing made him a Premier League revelation,

and it wasn’t long before he took the international stage by storm.

The 1998 World Cup in France was Michael’s springboard, as he scored an incredible solo goal in England’s second-round tie with Argentina. While red-carded United midfielder David Beckham became something of a scapegoat for the Three Lions’ penalty shootout exit, Owen was hailed a national hero.

His Liverpool career went from strength to strength, and in 2001 his part in the Merseysiders' triple cup haul of UEFA Cup, FA Cup and League Cup – together with international feats including a hat-trick against Germany – earned him the Ballon d’Or and FWA Player of the Year awards.

Michael left Liverpool after eight years following the arrival of new manager Rafael Benitez, swapping countries with the new man at the Anfield helm as he moved to Real Madrid. Although he was only in La Liga for a season, Owen bagged 14 goals in 22 starts for Real before a surprise £16million move to Newcastle.

A spate of injuries underscored Owen’s career at St James’ Park, and his four seasons with the Magpies yielded only 65 starts, although he did still notch 30 goals in that time. Michael’s contract expired in the summer of 2009, at which

point Sir Alex swooped to sign the famed goal-poacher on a free transfer, offering him a two-year deal.

He got his United career off to the perfect start with a winning goal on his non-competitive debut during the 2009 Asia Tour. After coming off the bench in the 61st minute, Owen pounced on a loose ball after Giggs had been tackled in the area and coolly slotted home to secure a 3-2 win over a Malaysian XI.

And the striker topped that early in the season with a goal that instantly catapaulted him into Reds folklore – the 96th-minute winner in the Manchester derby at Old Trafford in September.

The survey was collected by some of my friends from my old school and online. The purpose for this survey is to see how many people like anime. Currently, most people prefer Japanese anime than American cartoons.

The survey above shows that anime has become more popular and a lot of people liked them. I had talk to most of my old friends; my best friends say that anime has more complex story and, sometimes, humorous and shocking twists. Some say that anime has beautiful and ‘cute’ render animation.

The survey also shows that the characters have deeper personality and relationship such as having a confused love triangle relationship, the will to get stronger, and the character’s complex past.

As shown above, a lot of people like to watch anime more than cartoons.

The survey, although answers its purpose, conveys only a very superficial and biased result as the scope of the people taking the survey is very narrow and they are all coming from the same location. This would result in a same pattern throughout the result, blocking the chance of having diverse responses from different perception of other people. In this survey, it can be interpreted that the majority of the CS students in Binus International university have the tendency to be technologically dependent. This statement is based on some facts, for instance, 80% of the students are finding it hard when they do not have internet access around them. On the other cases, such as the number of on line games played, number of hours spent in front of the computer and the number of hours spent going through Facebook, it can also be concluded that almost all of the students kill their times mostly by going through Facebook, surfing the web or playing on line games. As we can see, 100% of the people taking the survey have ever played on line games, 40% of them spend about 5-10 hours in front of the computer and another 40% of them even gives more than 10 hours of their days in front of the computer. Surely, this survey pinpoints a fact that the students in Binus International University are technologically driven, especially by the internet, thus creating high dependency towards the computer and other sorts of related technology.

[Week IV] Case Study: Greta

In my opinion Greta Pearson has the lowest chance of doing suicide. She is still young and she is already used to bad situations, also she is intelligent. Even though at a glance she is in a very bad situation, she won't commit suicide. There are factors from herself and her environment that will prevent that.

First one is because she is intelligent so she will think twice about committing suicide. If she commits suicide she will make people close to her sad and it means she is just escaping from her problems. She is intelligent so she will look for another solution for her problems and she can be a successful person as long she does well in school. She is also not depressed or showing signs of hopelessness.

The second one is she lives alone with her mother. Her father left her when she was 4 and her mother is a drunk. Even though her mother is a drunk, it isn't stated that she beats Greta so I'm sure her mother just doesn't care at all. If Greta commits suicide her mother will be left alone and maybe she will commit suicide too.

The third factor is she has several close girlfriends and I believe these friends will support Greta no matter what happens to her. She can also ask her friends for some advice. These friends won't abandon Greta because they are close friends, if they are just ordinary friends maybe they will abandon her. Another reason is Greta will make her friends sad if she commits suicide.

In conclusion these factors will help Greta not committing suicide. Greta still has people that supports her and they will make Greta fells better so she has strength to continue her life.

[Week IV] Case study: Greta (suicide case)

This case is talking about a girl named Greta Pearson, she is only 16 years old where she has just known that she is pregnant. Unfortunately her boyfriend has just breakup with her because of another girlfriend. She has only a mother although her father is still alive but she has not seen him since she was 4 years old, her mother is jobless and she spends her time drinking in front of the television and Greta does not has brothers or sisters but she has several close girlfriends.

In this case about teenage suicide case, i do not think that Greta will do such that thing because she is still young although her family is not in a good condition. In this case Greta should ask some suggestion from her friends but the first thing that she should do is to tell her mother about what has happened to her although her mother may be does not care about her but It is not wrong to ask her mother first.

This kind of case could not be solved by single person because It's a big problem for Greta, that is why She need to solve this problem by seeing her ex-boyfriend parents and find the solutions there. If they can not find the final way, they can see a judge to help them because it is a kind of crime towards girl like Greta.

In conclusion, Greta will not do suicide because she is still young and she has a mother and some close friends who can support her to solve her problem. This kind of case could not be solved by a single person so people who face this kind of case should solve this problem
together between her and the boyfriend.

[Week IV] Case study: Greta Pearson

As for my view about the five cases of possible suicide attempts, Greta Pearson’s case is likely the lowest possibility suicide attempt since she still has hope left to continue with her life. Greta Pearson is a 16 years old intelligent girl who just discovered that she is pregnant. She lives alone with her mother who is alcoholic and her father had left when Greta was still 4 years old. She also has several close female friends at her school and has no longer relationship with her boyfriend who dumped her for another girl. There are several reasons why she can continue with her life.

First, she’s intelligent. She’s smart with her studies as stated in her case source, but it also means that she’s clever with other things. So she can figure out a way to solve this problem. She can either sue her boyfriend since he’s responsible for making her pregnant even if they’re not together anymore.

Secondly, different countries have different regulations. Some of the countries in the world allow students to continue to go to school even though she is pregnant. If she lives in that country, it will make things easier for her. But if she doesn’t live in that country, she can quit her school and start a new life with her baby while trying to earn a job.

Lastly, she has several close friends. Even though some of her friends might turn down on her, she still has her close friends. Even her mother is alcoholic and her father left home; she still has her close friends to support her. Most girls matured a lot faster than boys so they can keep their promise and help Greta with the baby such as lending their money and take turns on taking care of the baby.

However, she also has the right to decide on her own. She can either quit school and starts a new life as a mother of a son or daughter or continue on with her school along with her baby.

[Week IV] Case study: Greta (Greta's case - Aldy)

Considering the fact that one who is in a phase of transition of becoming an adult is very emotionally unstable and the fact that one who is in his or her downfall are very prone to giving up as due to the pressures, I strongly argue that Greta Pearson's case holds the highest probability of committing suicide.

One thing to be noticed in this case, this is a real life case in which people who are in the bottom of one's life wheel are very extremely weak and this is NOT a heroic or some other heart-warming movie stories in which she can just see another reason to wake up from her downfall. The position that she is in, reminding that this is real life situation, is very critical due to several factors, including unemployed alcoholic mother, no presence of father and being left by her boyfriend.

The fact is, people commit suicide when they are alone and are not under careful watch by someone else. Suicide cases mostly fall to these depressed and unguarded people, and thus, just as Greta's currently experiencing. Imagine a situation in which she is alone in her room, feeling depressed and is unable to open her mind to rational reasons and most importantly, she is unguarded while her mom is drinking in front of the television and unaware of her daughter's condition. (take note that she just realized that she is pregnant, signs or symptoms are hardly recognizable by other people), the chance of committing suicide is very high here.

Even though she has several close friends, it's Greta's call to actually tell the news to her friends as she considers the humility factor as well as there is a chance of her friends telling it to other people. In this case, I will divide my argument into two that neglects the effect of having several close friends. Firstly, is Greta open minded enough to tell her friends and to be able to listen to rational thoughts from her friends? This is a big issue as such that it is practically useless to give suggestions to someone who is not open minded. Secondly, communication between friends, especially "several" close friends (from this word 'several' we know that Greta is not as close as the readers could imagine and not single or two or three best friends who she can really rely on.) will involve transfer of information from Greta to another individual. It is not explicitly stated, though I'm assuming here, that Greta's several close friends don't have any boyfriend. Based on the assumption that one of her close friends has a boyfriend, it is almost 100% that the girl will tell her boy friend. As the news spread around, there is a law that is called the chain linked information. This theory states that people tend to add, or to 'glamorize' a certain news. The facts will shortly turn into nonfactual gossips which in the end of the road, will adds up Greta's pressure from her classmates that enlarges the chance of committing suicide.

[Week IV] Case Study: Greta

Greta Pearson, 16, has the highest suicide risk because the circumstances revolve her aren`t make her able to get through her condition of getting pregnant before marriage. It is stated that she don`t really have a figure of a good parents to protect her. Considering the situation of her mother that is an alcoholic which spending most of her time sitting in front of the TV and her father that has left her since she was still 4 years old. She get used to not having a foundation of attention from her family since she was still an infant. Though it is a fortunate that she is an intelligent girl, at least she would have a pressure by holding another bigger responsible so sudden such as having a baby while she still has to take care of her drunk mother. Plus, her boyfriend just ignore his responsibility of what he has done to her, and has a new girlfriend instead.

First of all, elaborating that she has no figure of a good parents protecting her. It is stated that her mother has no job and she spends most of her time drunk in front of TV. Her father left her since she was 4, it is obvious that she might be not known him at all. And also it doesn`t also mean that she is able to deal with it, though maybe she hasn't shown any disappointed feeling with her family. There's a possibility that she might be depressed, but since it happens for a very long time ago, she also might be get used to such circumstance. Still, she has dried scar on her heart. She might be feel unsupported internally from her family at all.

Secondly, elaborating that she is an intelligent girl. She has several close friend who could support her 'externally'. She is obviously needs friends to talk about her anxiety. And about her intelligence, she is actually intelligent in academic. Fortunately, she will be able to handle this with her logic. But, that is all. High school is harsh, her other friends would talk about it, and might be said something that is not proper. There will be gossip about her and some of them would developing too much and create another conflict. This kind of situation would make her more under pressure of what she has happend to her.

The last but not the least, elaborating the useless boyfriend she had. She nearly has plenty of people to hold on to. Her past boyfriend just dump her and find another girlfriend. It is obvious that she is moaning in her distress about her irresponsible boyfriend.

Overall, she would feel in her greatest misery where no one is there to help her, at least no one would truly be able to help healing her wound in this kind of circumstance. Maybe it is not stated that she's in such condition above, and she looks like she's able to deal with it, but deep in her heart, I believe, at least, she would feel all the sad thing I`ve mentioned above.

[Week IV] Case study: Greta

From my point of view, Greta's case has the highest chance that she will commit suicide. First of all, when she knew that she is pregnant, her boyfriend left her and went away with another girl, so surely that she will feel so sad about it, because at the most important time that she need him, he left her just like that. Secondly, her mother is an alcoholic, so her mother usually feel unconscious for what she had done, she even might bring more disasters for Greta because of her actions.

Not just that, when Greta was 4, she was left by her father, this must be very hard for her because everyone need both the figure of a father and the figure of a mother, not just one of them. After that, although she have some close friends that can help her, her friends have some limits too and her friends just can give her sympathy not empathy because her friends don't experience the same situation as hers.

In conclusion, she almost has no-one to stand beside her in this critical situation and no matter how strong she can be, every person needs someone who can help. Even though she is intelligent, people tend to think unclearly in this kind of situation which includes Greta, and that can lead her to suicide.

[Week IV] Case study: Greta

In my opinion, among all of the cases of possibilities of attempt to commit suicide in my task that my lecturer gave to my class, the first case has the lowest possibilities to commit suicide, which is Greta Pearson's case. Her case is that she's only 16 years old and intelligent but already pregnant. Her mom has no job and alcoholic. Her dad left them when she was 4 and her mother never remarried. She is the only child in the family but she has some close girlfriends. She has no more relationship with her boyfriend. And I think that this case has the lowest risks, because in my opinion she can through this very well.

First of all, she is an intelligent girl even though from the source is stated that "she does well on her school", doesn't mean that she is only smart in the academic way, but intelligent, generally means that she is smart to do what is the best for herself. So she can just sue the guy that made her pregnant to even if they do not live together at least still give her money for the baby's life's fee. If he refuse to give helps, she can put him into a jail. And despite it doesn't help her financially at least it helps her emotionally with a little feeling of satisfaction.

Second, some countries allow people whom pregnant to go to school and learn like normal kids but the others don't. If she lives in a country that doesn't, she can just wait until the baby is born, continue her school after that, and get a job. and if she lives in a country who does, it is even more easier, she can graduated from her school and get a job faster. But of course she will get much pressure from her schoolmate about her bad reputation, but as she is an intelligent girl, i think she can handle the temporary pressure just until she finish her school. Generally people finish their high school in the age around 17-19 but some of the people finish their high school even faster, especially for them who does good in their school, like her. And a smart girl like her actually can get a proper job after finishing her high school.

Third, in the source is also stated that "she has several close girlfriends", it doesn't say the exact amount of her close girlfriends, so it could be approximately 4 and 6. And according to the relationship of close friends, i think she can keep borrow money from her friends for the baby's life's fee until she gets a job. Of course friends also have limitations, but then she can make a deal to their friends like giving the money back soon after she is capable of doing that.

[Week IV] Study case

Greta Pearson is 16 years old girl and she has just discovered that she is pregnant. Her father left her and her mother since she was 4 years old. Her mother is an alcoholic and always drunk in front of television,so she never take care her child and Greta doesn't have any brother and sister. Greta is an intelligent girl and have some close friends. Her boyfriend who also 16 left her two weeks ago and find another girlfriend.

Based on the fact that I mention at the first paragraph,I think Greta Pearson has the highest change to commit suicide. First of all ,she just 16 years old and she is pregnant. When she need her boyfriend ,he already left her and go with other girl. I think she is really sad and disappointed with her boyfriend. It's already a shock for her.Secondly her mother couldn't help her to get out from her problems because her mother always drunk all the time. She also can't continue her study as a clever student it is also a big waste for her future.

In short,Greta Pearson has big chance to commit suicide because of she had a big pressure and no one could help her to get out from her problem. She also didn't have any support from her parents.

[Week IV] Belated study case

In this case about teenage suicide case, i think that Greta has the lowest probability to commit suicide because she has several reasons for not doing that.

First of all, Gretha is a intelligent person. An intelligent person will think twice before he/she act, and Gretha will realize that committing suicide is not a good idea because it won't solve any problem.

Second reason is her father already left them since Gretha still a kid. That makes her mother become an alcoholic whom always spend her time in front of TV while drinking alcohol. Eventhough her mom turned into an alcoholic person, her mother didn't commit suicide. That will be an example for Gretha, and a reason for Gretha to not commit suicide because if she suicide, nobody will take care for her mother.

The third reason why Gretha won't commit suicide is because her closefriends. We know that now Gretha is in a critical condition which is easily motivated to commit suicide, but we also know that Gretha has several closefriends. We can assume that Gretha's closefriends won't let Gretha to commit suicide. They'll encourage Gretha up. They'll try as hard as they can to convince Gretha not to commit suicide, Because That's what friends for..

However, we only can guess what Gretha will do because her life is her choice. She can do whatever she want whether she choose to do abortion or to live her life with her baby.

[Week IV] Instruction - Case study: Greta

Week IV

Case study: Greta's case

Tuesday 6 October 2009

[Week III] Adolescence

Adolescence is the process where a child grow up to an adult or the process of maturity. This process can be seen not only from physical appearance but also mentally. Physically, the child will grow taller, bigger, and they will face puberty. On the other hand, the changes from the point of mentality can be seen by the way they think and act. When someone grow older, people will expect them to have more responsibility and they expect them to be more independent. For example, when we were still a child, we were very depend on our parents, but after we grow up we must learn how to be independent, because sooner or later we will have to live by ourselves.

Usually, during this period, we search for our identity, but it may lead us to conflicts. For some youngster, the conflict of identity that adolescence brings does not really influence them, but for some teenagers, this is quite real. Sometimes, some of them also feels like everybody around them are watching, talking, and judging them, but the fact is that no one really care that much about them.

The environment of the teenagers such as family and friends can bring some influence to them, and if it's not good it even can bring them to the act of suicide. Family has a great influence in this process, especially the approaches used by their parents. there are 3 types of approaches, the authoritarian style, the permissive style, and the democratic style. The authoritarian style is where the parents always control the adolescent, so the adolescent doesn't given any freedom, and usually, this leads to rebellion and conflicts. In the permissive style, teenagers are almost free, but their parents give them some limits. Last but not least, the democratic style, where parents give some advice and some limits to them, but teenagers are also involve in making a decision.

[Week III] Knowing About Adolescence

There are many definition about adolescence, because of that I'll define it in a simple one. The meaning of adolescence is growth toward independence, and the beginning of lifelong commitments its meant that the transition from the dependence of childhood to the independence of adulthood. Actually it is very hard to know when a person has begun to be adolescence and the end of it.

Adolescence is generally marked by two things, they are biological or physical changes. Biological changes can be known when the children reach the sexual maturation and for the physical one can be marked by the increase in height and weight an also voice. For girl the growth process is faster than boys where girls from the age of ten until 15 and for boys it will started between 12 till 17 years old or more.

In social life, the children who have become adolescence will search everything that they want to know from about drugs, friendship with other people, to know more about themselves, etc. Every things that they want to do should be consulted with their parents because at this position of adolescence, children try to do things without future plant, that's why the role of parents is very important,

When the children have become adolescence and have many of problems they will try to do something insane like suicide. This suicide can be caused by many factors like the teenagers background, their psychological problem like depression, and social problem like having bad friends. On this problem, again parents have an important role for monitoring their children before something bad happen to them, although teenagers don't like what their parents have done in controlling them in their life.

[Week III] Adolescence: Teenage Suicide - Aldy

Teenage Suicide...

Being unable to express one's feeling, constant pressures from one's society and being unable to accept certain circumstances are probably the main causes of teenage suicides. Referring to the text titled "Teenage Suicide" there has been an increasing trend in cases of teenage suicide in past few decades and suicide has been the third leading killer of teenagers after accidents and murders.

There are several 'determinants', the term suggested by Allen, that significantly affect teenager's decision on committing suicide. These factors are divided into three, including the predisposing factors, predictors of suicide and the precipitating events that lead to suicide. Parenting system, peer pressures, and acceptance of suicidal, for instance, are the three of the many determinants towards suicide. Allen, in response to the increasing trend of cases of teenager suicide also discusses the possible ways to 'dampen' the number of suicides. The solutions include the campaigns against suicide through education which trains the teenagers to be open minded, and to be rational as they are facing certain life problems.

[Week III] Adolescence

Adolescence is a process of being an adult. It happens to every mankind starts from an infant until we become an old people. It can be divided by mental and physical adolescence. From mental adolescence shown by how we react on every circumstances we'll face. We will be more careful on making decision every time we get older because of the experiences we've gain towards our lives. And from physical adolescence is determined by our age and our physical appearance on how we're getting taller and facing puberty.

When we're stepping on this stage, we're usually seeking for our true identity which will make our mind popping up many philosophical questions revolving of 'Who am I?', 'What do I do for living?', 'Why is this and why is that?' question. And when we face confusions and conflicts, we usually become rebel and wanting to be independent.

And after that stage, we will become egoistic when everything is all about us, focusing on one`s life. We would think that everybody is paying attention and judging on everything we do when finally we find an imaginary audience that we thought everybody is watching and analyzing us.

Overall, it is cannot be avoided that adolescence itself is influential from one`s family. How their family setting a parenting style is the first foundation on how the children would react. There are three types of parenting. The authoritarian style of parenting that taught their children by actually telling them what to do because they parents said so. This kind of parenting style could make the children unstable when they're actually prefer to be independent at this stage. The permissive style where children are given freewill on everything they want to do. This parenting style would lead the children on knowing no limit which would ended up by not recognizing the difference between right and wrong. The most recommended style is called democratic. Here, the parents will be involve the teenager in making decision, giving advices and supports, do set limits but still giving some independence for the children.

[Week III] Adolescence

Adolescence is a proses of changes from child into adult that consist of physical and psychology. The process of adolescence can we see as a physical growth , we gain more height and weight. On the other hand, psychological changes can't be seen but we can't see the result as the way they act and the way they think.

The physical changes is one of the process to be an adult. Girl grow up faster than boy but they stop grow up earlier than boy, girl usually start at 10 to 17 and boy 12 to 21. Not only physical but also sexual change because the reaction of hormone. The psychology changes can be seen when they interact with others and the way they think such as solving problems , talking with their friends , making decision , etc.

In this process children usually still searching who they really are. they usually act like people who they admired. Not only the act but also how they walk , speak , using clothes , etc. In this process parents should be guide their children so they won't get in the wrong way. In this time they really easy to believe other people assumption and they like to try something new so if parents don't guide them properly they could fell into disaster. So parents have really big responsible in the process of adolescene , they are the one who give their children good advice and manage their limit.

Usually adolescence is filled with turmoil, stress, rebellion, conflict, and negativism but it is also a period of growth and positive changes.

The beginning of adolescence is usually marked by physical changes. The physical changes are growth spurt such as increasing height and weight and also sexual maturation. Some psychological problems of early adolescence is caused by the growth spurt because there are some changes in the body. Some boys and girls reach puberty faster or slower than their friends. This can be classified as early or late bloomers. Boys gain more profit in early maturity than the girls but boys suffer more in late maturity than the girls.

Another sign of adolescence is identity crisis. Identity crisis is a process of finding one's identity and his or her purpose in life. This process can cause many confusion and conflict in some youngsters. Adolescence can also cause adolescent egocentrism. Teenagers often feel that they are the center of attention and everything about them will be judged even though no one really cares. This is called constructing an imaginary audience. Sometimes teenagers will also become overconfident in their abilities and having irrational beliefs that they can do everything.

Parents should help their children solve the problems that is caused by adolescence. This is a must because parents are the closest person to their children. How the teenagers will solve their problems in adolescence depends on the parenting style of the parents. The parenting styles are authoritarian, permissive, and democratic. The best parenting style is democratic because it gives freedom and at the same time parents can control their children. This proves that parents are essential to their children.

Adolescence is the stage of growth from childhood to adulthood. A person will change his or her appearance, societal, and maturity. Teenagers are heavily associated with the adolescent development as in recent years it had been increased in adolescence. The teenage years are from 13-19.

The first to notice of our growth is our appearances. We begin to grow our size and weight as we grow older. However, there are problems regarding to growth. Some boys and girls grow faster than their friends but sometimes slower than the others. Boys kept growing while girls stopped growing at a certain age.

The second notice is our maturity and behavior. When we start to grow older, we realize that we felt a sudden change in ourselves such as stopped doing childish things and our behavior starts to act like adults. We also begin to feel that we have our own rights to do anything we want. However, in our teen years, there are some problems that can make us unstable which sometimes caused by unpredictable problems.

Even though teenagers can easily become unstable, they still can control themselves with a help of their parents and friends. They just need someone to support and encourage them.
